Delicious tempura set (around ¥1000) and tempura donburi (around ¥800). I ordered tendon (tempura donburi) set and it comes with a bowl of tendon, miso soup, and tsukemono (Japanese pickle). The tempura donburi was tasty and very fulfilling, you will get 2 prawn tempuras and assorted vegetable tempura on top of rice and finished with legit sauce. The miso soup was not disappointing. A good place to eat tempura.

Went hungry, go back disappointed. Read so many good reviews so decided to try their Toriten (Tempura chicken) & Tempura Don(Fried prawn). The prawn was big, however the batter was soggy. The Toriten (chicken) wasn't seasoned well. So the taste depends much on the tartar sauce dip. The miso soup was super salty!!! Worth to try if you are staying nearby. The waiter/waitress are friendly. Serving are fast. But don't have too high expectations, you will be disappointed😭. Overrated reviews.

Good Shrimp tempuras!

Came for the Chicken Tempura but ended up ordering more than that. Very clean place, with a nice open view of the kitchen. Staff was very friendly and cordial. They had made a mistake with our order, and they quickly rectified out with no fuss. Ordered the Chicken Tempura, the beef tataki, Anego bowl(eel), and the assortment of vegetable tempura. All of it was delicious, but the best things for me were the Chicken and eel.

Very special, unique, delicious tempura! This is different from what you had outside for sure! Everyone who visit Beppu should come over!

Good price-performance ratio (860 tax not included for a tendon).It’s crowded at dinner time, and all seats are on the ground except those at the counter.

Very good tendon place! Very good location for us to eat lunch as this is right near Beppu Kitahama bus center and the bus stop to the airports. We all had their most popular tendon meal set (750 yen one), and for the price the quality of the shrimp and vegetable tempuras were superb and tasty. They also deserve this 5 star rating because we arrived there at 1:59pm and was about to close for their break (2-5pm closed), but they let us in as their last customers! Very glad that we were able to eat their tendon on our last day of the trip, thank you!

Good food at a slightly steep price. They offer a wide variety of fish sashimi, but it seems most locals come for their tempura set meals which are quite large and cheap. You can try pufferfish here between December and March, and they have other seasonal dishes

Not sure abot the othet but for me overrated review. Bright side, service is flawless, fast and helpful Large portion with reasonable price. Tempura is crispy . Unfortunately, the taste of shrimp is weird, some piece has unnatural taste. Also everything is salty, both tempura sauce and miso soup.

I wouldn’t have come here if the restaurant I originally wanted to go to wasn’t unexpectedly closed. If there was an English menu, we weren’t offered one, even though we clearly couldn’t understand Japanese. Our order was taken wrong, but in the end we finally got what we ordered, which were the three recommended items (I assumed): the toriten (fried chicken), dukyu (aji sashimi marinated in a sesame-based sauce) and dashimaki tamago. The chicken tasted below average, dukyu was unique and tasted pretty good, and the tamago was average. A bowl of rice on the side comes with pickles - tasty bonus!

Super busy place. The meal tasted good and came quickly. Worth a visit.
